Learn how to tame the inner critic, and enjoy making a difference without burning out.
You rewrote that email four times. You said yes when you meant no. And now it's late and you're still going over everything you didn't get done.
None of that is a flaw in your character. It's what happens when people who care a lot are never taught how to work with their own minds.
It's especially common in people who are trying to make a difference. You care so much about the work that you rarely switch off, and underneath the everyday stuff sits a bigger worry: that whatever you do, it will never quite be enough.
Joyful Impact Live is 45 free minutes, once a month, to practise something different. You'll learn one simple skill, try it with a friendly group, and leave with something you can use the same week.
Each month focuses on one of four mental fitness muscles. They build on each other, but every session stands on its own, so you can start any time.
Noticing, with curiosity
Catching the inner critic and the stories in your head, so you can hear them without having to obey them.
Steadying, with connection
Coming back to your body, your senses and the people around you when your mind is racing.
Allowing, with compassion
Meeting hard feelings with kindness, instead of fighting them or pushing them away.
Acting, with clarity and courage
Getting clear on what matters to you, and taking a brave next step towards it.
I'm Sol, a mental fitness coach. I run The Alt Academy, which teaches the life skills we missed at school, and I co-founded the Change:Maker Collective. I work with impact-driven people who hold themselves to impossible standards. I know that voice well, because I've had one for most of my life.
